The WestFest Annual Talent Show Competition for dancers, singers pianists, musicians and other performers will be held during WestFest

Pre-Teen Division: Ages 10-12
Junior Division: Ages 13-15
Senior Division: Ages 16-29
In Each Division Prize Money Will Be Awarded As Follows:
1st Place $200.00
2nd Place $100.00
3rd Place $50.00
The Preliminary Competitions Will Be Held
Pre-Teen Thursday, June 24th 5:00-6:00 p.m.
Junior Thursday, June 24th 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Senior Friday, June 26th 5:00-6:00 p.m.
The TOP 8-10 Performers In Each Division Will Compete In The Finals:
Pre-Teen Friday, June 25th 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Junior Saturday, June 26th 5:00-6:00 p.m.
Senior Saturday, June 26th 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Winners will be announced and prize money awarded after the final competitions. Five judges will adjudicate performances. Judges will be chosen based on their level and area of expertise. Each judge will award points in 3 separate categories. (100 points possible).
TECHNICAL SKILL 1-10 Points
STAGE PRESENCE 1-5 Points
ORIGINALITY/UNIQUENESS 1-5 Points
Each participant may enter only one performance. We welcome groups, but please limit the number to 5 participants. Because of the time it takes to set up and take down several pieces of equipment, we will not accept rock bands in the competition.
Interested participates will need to schedule an audition with Marcelle Nordfelt (talent@westfest.org) Audition dates and times are yet to be determined, but will take place at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center (3100 South 1500 West) 2-3 weeks prior to WestFest. Those invited to compete in the Talent Showcase will be notified by mail after all of the auditions have taken place.
Performers should bring the following to their audition:
Completed Competition Application - including signatures
Printed Copy of the Lyrics to any song that will danced to or performed
Anything else you may need for your performance (i.e. CD, MP3, props, costumes, etc.)
Microphones will be provided at the competition but not at the audition
